Jewelry Love

I haven't been a big jewelry person for most of my life. I got my ears pierced in 6th grade, and now I'll occasionally forget to even wear earrings. Lately though, I've been finding myself wanting to upgrade my jewelry options and what's even more crazy is that I really like gold! I used to loathe it and would only wear silver, but there are so many cute gold pieces out there these days.
Another trend I'm really liking is yellow. I love the more mustardy shades and have bought a couple cute shirts in this color in the past few months.
These Kendra Scott earrings called "Danielle" have become really popular. I don't usually gravitate towards larger earrings, but I can see these being a cool statement piece and a color like black, or the white below would go with a lot of things.
So....do I get the black or the white ones? I like them both, but they're too pricey to buy one of each.
These are my favorite piece of jewelry on my wishlist right now. They are Stella & Dot and just plain cool. I love green, and these would be really pretty with a lot of other colors.
These are also Stella & Dot - I love the aquamarine stones mixed with gold.
It might be weird, but I have a favorite shape, and that is the quatrefoil. Ever since I learned what it was called in my design history course in college, it's been a favorite shape that I seek out in design and fashion.
I'm not usually a big red person in design or fashion, but this necklace has just enough pink in it that makes me like it. It would look super cute with a little black dress.
This necklace is just unique and cute. I like basic pieces that I can wear everyday.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but this is a long necklace that you can either wear in a single or double loop around your neck. I love the variations in stone colors and the little gold accent details.
Lastly, I love these turquoise flower earrings from Kendra Scott. They are bright and fun and would be great for the summer.

Now, I wish it was closer to my birthday or Christmas...

Jonathan Adler Obsession

I don't remember when I learned about Jonathan Adler exactly, but I'm sure it was sometime during college. He is known for his flamboyant style and crazy colors in home designs, as well as in the products that he designs and sells from his online shop and stores. I actually have a case for my iPhone designed by him, and of course my fabulous Daschund. He is currently sitting in style on a shelf by my fireplace.

Sometimes Adler rooms are a little too out there for me.
Giant hot pink poodles and barbie dolls nailed to the wall are a little on the weird side, even though this is actually for a Barbie museum.
Other times, I really like his style (photo from House Beautiful) and use of patterns and colors.

Lately though, I feel like I've been hit with a full blown obsession with his pottery. I don't care for the psychedelic colored stuff, or the wacky naked butt vases, but I love the simple white ceramic stuff he does. There are a ton of things in the Menagerie category that I love, which are basically stylized animal figures (like Weenie the Daschund).
How cute is this giraffe? Seriously. It would look cool on a console table in an entryway, or in a nursery (on a high shelf!)
This whale canister would be really cute for jewelry storage on a dresser.
 So would the squirrel
Not only is this just cute, but it's also an bank. Not a piggy, so I guess it would be an ellie?

There are so many other fun ones, but these are the ones on the more affordable end of the scale.

Something else I would love to buy is an assortment of these vases. They would work perfectly on the built in shelves in my living room. Now, all I need to do is find a money tree and I would be all set!

Nightstand Search

I'm currently working on a master bedroom makeover. We have a hodge podge of random stuff in there right now and the next item on my shopping list is new nightstands.
These next few options are all from West Elm - one of my favorite sources for reasonably priced, cool designed furniture. I like the mocha colored one in the center with the metal feet as an accent.
I've been trying to decide what color of wood I want to go with in the room. Our dresser is a temporary solution that will get us by for the next few years, and probably eventually be used in a guest or kid's bedroom. The nightstands I want to be more permanent, so they really need to fit with my vision for our future room.
I definitely lean towards Mid Century Modern in my furniture taste. I would love to be able to find something like these on Craigs List or at a garage sale somewhere.
I also love these in white. Not sure how good they would look with our dark brown/black dresser in the meantime though. A lot of the fabric, etc. in the room is more of an off white or cream as well, so these might not work out.
I like the mocha version of this one a lot too, but I'd really like to start incorporating other wood tones into our house. Mostly all of our furniture is mocha and while I still like it, I don't want everything to be too matchy.
This one is from CB2, Crate and Barrel's sister store. I like the simple shape and the stain of the wood is something a little different than I would normally choose.
This is also CB2 and is totally different than anything else we have in our house. I think the metal look could be really cool and funky. I'm just not sure if I could pull it off with the rest of our furniture.

Well, anyway, that's only two sources I've looked at so far. I'm sure there are thousands of options out there that would work and fit my budget. I just need to get busy and pick one.

I love Lamp

Catch my Anchorman reference? Haha, that movie is so dumb, but that phrase has stuck in my head forever.

I've been working on a master bedroom makeover and have been trying to decide what to do about our lamps. I still like the bases on our current ones. They're just a brushed nickel, simple design - it'd be nice to have something with a little more color. The thing I really don't like is the shades. They're pleated and collect dust like nobody's business. It's hard to clean them and I'm just plain sick of them. Anyway, I'm thinking about replacing the shades and re-using the old lamps in our guest bedroom.
This is THE lamp. I saw it in a Target ad in a magazine and fell in love with the shape and color. I had to look in two Target stores to find it in person. After I saw it...I just don't know. I still love the idea of the lamp, I'm just not sure if it's right for the room. Especially since I've now picked out a headboard fabric and curtains.

Now I'm thinking something like one of the above options would probably be better. I still really love the idea of a glass base though. I guess I need to keep looking.

Grandin Road

I recently ran across Grandin Road's website and it's chock full of cool stuff.
These chairs are super cute and retro looking. They come in a few different colors, but I love these aqua ones, especially with the striped cushion.
I've been looking for some new lamps for our bedroom and love the shape and color options for these.
This pillow wouldn't really go with anything in my house, but I think it would be really cute in a kids room.
I love the colors of these stools too. They would be nice in a bathroom or by a back door if you need to stop and put on shoes or something.
This bird on a wire art can be hung indoors or outdoors. I would hang it on the wall of my back porch.
I love the colors of this rug. It seems like it would work with a variety of styles and color schemes.
They have several different embossed patterned wallpapers available, and they're even paintable. I saw this one in a Crate and Barrel catalog one time as a background and tore out the page, saving it as an idea for future reference. It would be cool to use it as an accent wall somewhere.

Anyway, there is a lot more cool stuff on the website, but these were a few things that caught my eye.

Rug Source

I recently found a website Shades of Light that sells the obvious lighting, but also has a great selection of rugs.
I've seen this pattern many times in magazines and online. I think it looks like something Anthropologie would sell, but priced a lot lower.
This one also comes in gray and white and I just think it's a really fun pattern. I think it would look cute in a kid's room.
This rug comes in several colors and is an indoor/outdoor style, so it would probably be very durable in a dining room or somewhere with a lot of traffic.
I think this one would look cute in a gender neutral nursery or maybe even in our office. We have carpet in the room now, but it would be fun to bring some extra color in.
This striped one is an indoor/outdoor rug that can be hosed down if necessary. How cute would it look on my back porch?!
If I wouldn't have already found the perfect rug for our living room, this one would have been a contender. I love the dot pattern.

Anyway, I'm not really in need of any new rugs right now, but I always like to share a good source when I find one.

Favorite Pins

Happy Monday! I had a lovely weekend with family and friends, enjoying the amazing weather and St. Patty's Day festivities. Yesterday was especially productive since I finished our new headboard with the help of my dad. I will share pictures of it as soon as he is able to come over and help us hang it up. So exciting - the fabric is so FUN!

Today I want to share a few Pinterest finds. I love that I can keep track of things that I love all in one place.
Love these pigs - cutest salt and pepper shakers I've ever seen. They're available here at Terrain.
These vases are the PERFECT colors for my house. And they're just very "me".

I have a Fossil watch from Ted a couple Christmases ago that I love. However, that doesn't mean I don't "need" another one :) My Fossil watch is silver and this adorable Kate Spade one is gold - a color I find myself gravitating towards more and more again lately. Never thought that would happen!
I found this great website called 20x200 that sells high quality art prints. I've been looking for something interesting for our guest bedroom for a while, and this would be so cute and cheerful in there.
These drawer knobs from Anthropologie are too cute! We have a standard black/brown Ikea Hemnes dresser in our bedroom and it would be really fun to upgrade the knobs to something fun like these.
I've got a weakness for cute bags, like most women. This Kate Spade bag is super adorable and would hold a lot of junk ;) I saw it on sale one day and should have talked myself into buying it. Maybe next time.

Anyway, this is just another wish list. I need to stop shopping
